I can't ever see myself re-reading it, which is something I always do with series I love. If I was rating the entire series, I would rate it 3.5 stars. Now that I've completed the series, I can say that it was enjoyable, but it didn't rock my world. The author attempted to give him his HEA at the end and I didn't like it - it was rushed and an ill fit. I still felt so badly for Sean in this book. M never wavered in her love of him, and though Sean was a genuine option, and he was more than happy to enter into a relationship with her, she stayed loyal to Rigel the entire time. One of the things I really liked about this series was how loyal both M and Rigel were to each other. There is strength in numbers, and together, M and Rigel, are a force to be reckoned with. The twist with Rigel was good and unexpected. But M proves her resilience and demonstrates what a natural born leader she truly is. Separated from Rigel, she struggles to hold it all together. Betrayal abounds with heartbreaking consequences. It's a tricky situation, especially for one so young. Thrust headfirst into the manipulative political world on Mars, she must keep her wits about her if she is to correctly separate those who are trustworthy from those who are power-hungry and who seek to use her for their own end. I really felt for M in this book as the full extent of her leadership role hits home. This was a decent conclusion to the series, and a vast improvement on the last book, in my opinion.

Ambedkar (1891-1956), who was not only a scholar but also one of the greatest legislators and policymakers of independent India.Īmbedkar’s views on caste were also overlooked in the anthropology and sociology curricula in Indian universities. But what was most interesting in these discourses is the absence of the contributions of one of the most original thinkers on caste system in India, Dr B.R. The Marxist scholars viewed caste system as a kind of class formation. Srinivas propounded a theory of social mobility occurring within the caste system through a process that he termed “Sanskritization”. On the other hand, anti-Dumont interactionist scholars like Mckim Marriott gave more emphasis to the local and regional variations in the caste hierarchy and M.N. Louis Dumont (1911-1998), for example, in his famous book Homo Hierachicus (1966) championed this cultural notion of hierarchy to analyze caste system in structuralist terms. Western sociologists and anthropologists have largely viewed India as a society characterized by caste in which social hierarchy was translated into a biological, and hence cultural, idiom. ‘To conclude, while I am ambitious to advance a Theory of Caste, if it can be shown to be untenable I shall be equally willing to give it up.’ But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future. In lines like, “roving nature’s law is wrong,” and, “when no one else ever cared,” we see the oppression and inequality, but also indifference, a world that doesn’t care about Shakur because of who he is and where he is from. Without ever mentioning them, the poem addresses racism, poverty, and Shakur’s own personal struggles. The poem itself is delicately crafted, so much so that removing a single line or image would make the whole thing shatter. In this poem we see Shakur’s belief that everyone is capable of making something of themselves. One such poem is “The Rose that Grew From Concrete,” the title poem from Tupac Shakur’s post-humous collection of his poetry. There has been a long tradition of poetry written to help people see their own worth and potential. It has the power to bring us together, to inspire us to be better than we were, and it can show us that, despite all the odds and adversity, we can be great. On January 20th, at the presidential inauguration, we all saw the true power of poetry.
